I have an old SNAP server 1100 who's disk died. The Snap OS was in the disk, and there is no way to start the server with a new empty disk. Adaptec and Overland refused to give me a copy of the Snap OS image file to put on to the new disk.
Where do I find a Snap OS image for Snap Server 1100? I have read that it is similar to Snap Server 2200.
save the disk image with Digital dolly
You can use the Digital Dolly bootable CD to load / save the disk image into a file.
Use the Backup or Restore "RAW Disk" option.
You can even connect the snap disk via USB to your computer and do this backup.

SnapServer OS 4.0.860 Installable Disk Image
1) I was able to find the SnapServer OS 4.0.860 Installable Disk Image.
2) Downloaded it
3) Connected to my laptop a blank hard disk with a USB external disk enclosure.
4) Booted with Digital Dolly
5) From the mount menu of digital dolly, I mounted my laptop's hard disk (where the saved image "SnapServerOS.bin" was stored)
6) I used the "restore RAW disk from image file" and selected the "SnapServerOS.bin" file. (it was about 25 MB)
7) After that, I connected the hard disk to the snap server 1100
8) Did the full hard reset to clear any passwords
9) The default adminsitrator account has:
username: adminsitrator
password:
10) I followed the format instruction so that the whole disk capacity would become available.
where did you get the file
where did you get the file from?
thanks
